My experience with stainless steel frets has been quite good. Stainless steel frets are more durable than nickel. If you play a lot you won't need to get fretwork done as often and this saves a lot of time and money over the years.

I also find that stainlelss steel frets feel smoother than nickel. They really are nice to bend on.
