The easiest way to memorize all the notes on the guitar by name and location

In this video I share one of my lessons from my new Guitar Course. We learn the most effective way to memorize all of the notes on the fretboard.

This information is invaluable for any guitarist no matter what your level but as you advance, it becomes even more critical.

Typically, we learn that each fret raises or lowers a note by one semitone. While this method is fine in the very beginning it doesn't take long for it to become ineffective. The reason is that you need to know where you are and then count semitones to get to your next note. When you are playing songs this is not practical. You don't have time to count frets to try to find the location of the next chord or scale.

It becomes even more valuable when you learn triads and arpeggios and you want to "Play the Changes" and outline the chords being used.
